I'm grateful to have had the honor
of knowing John.. He was a wonderful friend.. John grew up with my
nephew Keith.. Who was not only John's friend but partner on the police
force... I remember seeing them together. Always happy, and always
joking around... I remember when they trained together... They always
made us laugh... I know John's memories will always be a part of our
lives, cause he set examples without trying. His way of living was the
way it should be... the saying about measuring a man's worth by his
friends. Should be by his actions and how he saw his life to be...
Thank you John, for letting me know you. The Herrera family always
considered you just another part of us... your were our brother. We
will miss you very much, but we know you are always around... From our
hearts we love you, and all that you loved... Blessings to your loving
wife, and child... Love Always Veronica
John was a great brother and is
sadly missed. His big smile and caring nature will carry on in all of
our hearts. UFFU Buckets we love you forever bro.
For the short time I knew Buckets,
he made a lasting impression on me. The first time I met him, he made
me feel as we've known each other for years. The times I saw him after
that, he always knew what was going on in my life, and really seemed to
care. A glowing smile, and positive additude he always seemed to
display. He will be missed in person, but his spirit will never die.
I'm proud and honored to have met John. J.J. UMC WI
I had never met or worked with
John, but I see the reaction that his untimely and tragic death has had
on his friends and I feel sad that I never was able to meet this man. I
hope nothing but the best for his friends and family.
Johnny was a real friend and
person. He was the Real Police! John was to be promoted to detective in
the next class. I am honored to have known and worked with John. I miss
seeing him, always smiling always a gentleman. The great and fun times
we shared at work and off-duty will forever be golden. One of your team
mates Team 4460
John could be the single greatest
friend anyone could ever have. I was blessed by working w/John, you
knew that if you were on the street w/him that night you never hand to
question his ability, he is a first class Cop. I think the only thing
he did better than police work was being a your FRIEND. John I love you
and miss ya. Please watch over us. God Bless "C"
God be with you my brother you are
protecting God's Kingdom now. I never met you but we are all family and
feel the hurt. God bless your wife and child may they both be
strong.... Ptl. Alan Altman Clarksville, TN Police Dept. Motor officer
ITS AN HONOR FOR ME TO HAVE HAD
JOHNNY AS A COUSIN. I USED TO CALL HIM THE ALL AMERICAN. AS I REMEMBER
IT, HE WHAS THE FIRST TO GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE AND WAS ALWAYS A GREAT
EXAMPLE FOR ME WITHIN THE FAMILY. I HATE TO ADMIT IT BUT I WHAS ALWAYS
A LITTLE JEALOUS OF HIM. IT ALWAYS SEAMED THAT HE HAD EVERYTHING
FIGURED OUT AND THAT I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT ANYTHING. JOHNNY'S PARENTS
DID A GREAT JOB RAISING HIM AND I COULD ALWAYS SEE THE PRIDE IN THEIR
FACE WHEN THEY TALKED ABOUT HIM.

I remember John to be the kinda
person you could always count on. He would never let you down. Always
smiling, very happy he had good ears for listening to problems and
returning with admirable advice. I always remembered John caring his
Holy Bible with him and would read passages from the scripture, that
was very inspiring to see not only a good person but also a man of God.
I will always remember him, and I know that he is looking down from
heaven at everyone he loved. your friend mike
I met John at the UMC Peace
Officers Memorial run DC04, Hawk and I were the only two Gunslingers
present. Buckets treated both of us like long lost friends from the
very first time we met. Although I was only around him on two
occassions he made an impression on me that few people that I have
known for years have done. Drivethru GSMC Austin, Texas
